Waste oil and your responsibility …

The law now insists that you dispose of your waste oil responsibly, or face a hefty fine.

If you produce waste cooking oil as part of your catering business, (for example as a chip shop or other takeaway outlet or restaurant), then you must ensure that it is stored properly, that none is allowed to spill and that it is collected by an authorised collector who will take your waste to an authorised site for recovery or disposal.

Who are Arrow Oils and what do they do?

Arrow Oils manage your used cooking oil collection from start to finish. They are a nationwide company with 15 UK depots. They manage the cooking oil cycle for a wide range of catering establishments from restaurants to pub chains, hospitals, schools and industry. A flexible service means collections to suit your business.

With a dedicated customer service team based in the once central office in the UK, you can expect fast responses to enquiries and collection scheduling.

Arrow Oils are fully licensed, insured and provide a waste control note for every collection. This traceability is used to raise detailed monthly reports giving multi-site customers greater control over outlet oil usage.

Arrow Oils heat, clean and then filter the waste oil at one of their purpose-built depots, then it is transported to a processing plant for conversion to biodiesel.

Turning your waste oil into fuel

Biodiesel is an alternative fuel. It can be produced from recovered vegetable oils and animal fats used in cooking. In the transport sector, it may be effectively used when blended with fossil diesel fuel.

Biodiesel presents a great recycling opportunity, it’s a greener alternative to petroleum diesel that reduces carbon emissions by 78%. The fuel can also be used to produce clean energy or lubricants.
