Supporting a great community project!

On Monday 20th March 2023, we handed over a cheque of £1,673.51 to Carlisle Youth Zone.

Pictured above is Gemma Hodgson, our area sales manager alongside Victoria and Hannah Aspinall from the Youth Zone. Hannah is employed as Senior Youth Worker and Victoria is an Inclusion Team Leader.

We have been a sponsor of the youth project for many years now and each year we are proud to handover a cheque to show our continued financial support.

Carlisle Youth Zone relies on charity donations to run its services to help children from a wide range of backgrounds from across the county. The youth zone is based in Carlisle and provides a safe and fun place for children and young people to meet, make new friends, learn new skills and to get away from the pressures of every day life.

Emma Rogerson is the Senior Development Co-Ordinator at the Youth Zone and says:

“We introduced our Winter Warm Zone recently which provides everyone with free entry and a free warm meal. Since introducing this we’ve seen over 500 new members join us. We’re visited by 60% more young people than this time last year.

We’ve obviously seen a huge rise in running costs and we work incredibly hard to fundraise to keep our doors open. We couldn’t continue to provide our services if we didn’t have this kind of support and young people need more support now than ever!”

What’s available at Carlisle Youth Zone?

Currently there are approximately 190 young people accessing the help and services of Carlisle Youth Zone each evening (six days a week) and the staff work incredibly hard to provide a professional service to all who attend. There is a free fully-equipped gym, bereavement counselling services, holiday club, sports clubs, baking and cooking skills classes and arts and crafts clubs available. The usual admission price is 50p.

The most important thing, is to simply have fun!

There is no need to book – anyone can attend. To find out more, visit their website.
