Purchasing team promotions

We’re excited to announce two of our colleagues based within our Purchasing Team have been recently promoted.

Amy Brown was previously a Buying Assistant is now our new Replenishment Planner and Charlotte Walker, formerly Senior Buyer, is now our new Buying Manager. We wish them both a huge congratulations in their new roles, and we’re sure everyone wishes them all the best for the future.

Amy Brown

Amy started work with us at the tender age of 15. She worked in our warehouse for many years as a part-time weekend member of staff, before joining us full-time at the age of 17. Due to her extensive product knowledge, she was duly rewarded by being promoted to the role of Buying Assistant.

After just four years in this post, last week she was promoted to the new role of Replenishment Planner. Her day-to-day duties include ensuring all our ambient, chilled and frozen stocks are up-to-date, forecasting and placing orders,  and liaising with our sales teams regarding special orders. She also aids our current Replenishment Assistant, Emma Johnstone, on a daily basis to ensure our ambient orders are placing accurately and on a timely basis.

In her spare time, she enjoys looking after her Cockerpoo and Shpoo dogs, socialising with friends and taking hot tub breaks.

Amy says: “It’s fabulous to be recognised by the company for my hard work and dedication to the role. I enjoy work and it’s brilliant that it’s acknowledged.

“I’m really looking forward to the challenge going forward and working with  my colleagues to ensure our department works to the best of it’s ability.”

Charlotte Walker

Charlotte joined Pioneer back in August 2017 working in our retail store. She attended Harper Adams University and gained a 2:1 BSc Hons in Agri Food Marketing & Business Studies. After working in several retail outlets in Shropshire and travelling around Australia for several months, Charlotte returned to her home city of Carlisle.

Charlotte joined our foodservice arm of the business last year as a Senior Buyer. Her new role as Buying Manager sees her develop her skills even further to ensure new products are sourced, pricing is negotiated to the highest degree and promotions set with our suppliers.

In her spare time, Charlotte enjoys the gym, yoga, fell-walking and baking celebration cakes.

On her promotion, Charlotte comments: “I really have enjoyed my time working with the Purchasing Team; I’ve worked hard and it’s excellent that hard work is rewarded. I’m really looking forward to working closely with our suppliers in the future to ensure our customers benefit from our competitive pricing.”

Michael Brown is our Purchasing Director and took the business decision to promote both Amy and Charlotte. Michael says: “I’ve seen my colleagues working incredibly hard, especially through difficult and challenging times due to the pandemic.

“Pioneer Foodservice is always keen to acknowledge hard work by colleagues and it’s an excellent business decision to promote internally; both Charlotte and Amy deserve this reward.”
