Generous customers visiting our stores in Carlisle and Harrington have been digging deep into their pockets to support the Cumbria Flood Appeal. Between December 2015 and March 2016, collections points at tills in the three stores raised an overwhelming total of £1,050.

Ian Brown, Chairman of Cumbria Community Foundation, the organisation which set up the flood appeal, visited our Rosehill store to collect the cheque. Ian was delighted with the generosity of shoppers and said: “I am genuinely amazed that so many people can put their hands in their pockets and give so generously at a time when they are facing their own problems. It really is humbling. We are working hard to help people and local organisations suffering hardship due to December’s events and the Cumbrian people have really pulled together to help each other.”

Douglas Middlemass, our Retail Manager was instrumental in supporting the fundraising effort and had nothing but appreciation for our kind customers: “We like to support local fundraising activities as much as we can: we are Cumbrian based and take pride in our county. We would like to thank all of our customers who gave to the appeal.”
