Unveiling our brand new vans

In a world where business success is often associated with global expansion and cutting-edge technology, there is something refreshing about a local business investing over £300k to transform their fleet of vans into eye-catching symbols of innovation.

As part of a large investment plan for our business, we recently took delivery of seven brand new vans. In recent years, we have had to use hire vans as a way to expand our fleet to cope with business demand and now we are able to launch our own new vehicles.

Four of the new vans are being used by our Carlisle depot to deliver across the north west of England and southern Scotland, while the remaining three will be heading for the roads of the north east.

It’s not just the vans that are brand new; we’re proud and excited to unveil our new ‘on the road’ look too.

We’ve been using our new logo for a few weeks now and were excited to showcase it on our vans with a whole new design, so we needed help.

Step one: The Creative

We knew we wanted to keep working with local businesses so we turned to the creative team at H&H Reeds to help us with the transformation of our fleet and Becca has done us proud!

The straplines …

We wanted to portray a first-class service of delivering quality products to our customers and this is where the strapline came in.

“SERVING the CATERER with FABULOUS FOODS”

We came up with a few different versions, however this one serves it purpose brilliantly. We simply do what is says on the van!

SAVE MONEY AND TIME ORDER ONLINE

We launched our online ordering system back in 2020 and we know customers use it and love it. There are two simple reasons and we wanted to shout about it in a simple and straightforward statement.

The photos …

We also wanted a single fantastic image which showcases our tempting, tasty food and we couldn’t have asked any more of the Flavour photography studio at Caterforce. As part of the marketing and buying group, we work closely with the studio and they have come up with amazing images of our produce consistently.

In fact, so good, Craig, our driver said “Wow! They look good enough to eat.” Job done.

Step two: The Vans

We buy our vans locally and always have done!

Jonny Forsyth, our operations director, is responsible for keeping our fleet of vehicles up-to-date and is always keen to look to local businesses for supply. We bought our seven new sprinter vans from Ciceley Commercials Ltd who are based at Kingstown Industrial Estate in Carlisle.

The vans are all refrigerated to ensure chilled produce is delivered to all our customers in perfect condition. For many years, we’ve worked with Thermo King Northern who are based in Carlisle to fit our vans out with quality refrigeration.

We also enlisted the expertise of Will MacGillivray who runs Image Signmakers from his workshop at Scotby, near Carlisle to help with the livery. Will and his team worked closely with us to ensure the vans looked their very best!

Jonny said: “We take a great pride in using locally-based businesses who all provide a first-class service and craftmanship. By choosing local providers, we have not only supported the local economy but also forged long-term partnerships which have benefitted multiple businesses.

“The transformation of our fleet of seven vehicles is an exciting symbol of innovation and reliability and stands as a testament to the power of collaboration and support.

“Our brand stands for quality and commitment and we’re very proud of our new look and design. Their visibility will enhance our reputation and all we represent.”
