Staff attend Leadership & Management Skills course

Recently, a number of our staff members attended and successfuly completed a Leadership & People Management Skills course.

Julie Bell Consulting Ltd held the two-day course at our headquarters in Rosehill, Carlisle.

Staff who attended the course are already in supervisory roles or stepping up to the role in the near future. The course covered the roles and responsibilities of a supervisor, self awareness, how to manage performance, setting work objectives, delegating tasks and building positive relationships with your role.

Spooky fun on the farm

Spooky fun at Walby Farm Park

Walby Farm Park is once again helping children and their families celebrate Halloween this week with hundreds flocking to their pumpkin patch.

The children’s attraction is at Crosby-on-Eden, just outside Carlisle, and is run by Neil Milbourn and his family. Every year they hold celebrations for Halloween during the October half-term holidays.

The children visit the pumpkin patch to pick their own pumpkin. They can then visit the tented area where staff are on hand to help them carve spooky faces into their pumpkins.

Throughout the day, there are themed shows and dramas taking place and many of their staff are dressed in scary outfits!

Family Business Conference 2018

The Family Business Conference was held at The Castle Green Hotel in Kendal on Thursday 11th October. The conference brought together family businesses looking to learn from and network with other successful family businesses.

Due to our successful win at the Cumbria Family Business Awards in March, we were invited to take part in the event. David Jenkins, our sales director, went along to represent our business.

The fifth Carlisle Living Awards were held at The Garden at Eden, just outside Carlisle, on Friday 21st September. Once again, we were sponsoring the Food & Drinks category.

On Thursday 6th September, Carlisle Ambassadors held their Autumn meeting at The Shepherds, Carlisle. The theme for this meeting was ‘Retail, Leisure and Sport’ highlighting the excellent work, projects and investment taking place in the city.

Housed in a beautifully restored farm close to Bassenthwaite Lake, The Lakes Distillery opened in December 2014. Their vision was to produce world-class spirits that will be global brands recognised and respected around the world.

Their range of premium spirits now include whisky, vodka, gin and a range of liqueurs.

Celebrating Carlisle College learners

On Thursday 21st June, we were honoured to attend the Carlisle College Awards 2018. The event was held at the college and was celebration of hard work and achievements of all the further education learners. After a delicious meal, which was made by the talented catering students, the certificates were awarded by, Grant Glendinning, principal of Carlisle College.
