Introducing our summer team in our dry good store!

We’re excited to welcome four new team members joining us for the summer in the dry goods store. Each of them brings energy, enthusiasm, and a fresh perspective to the team:

• Louis is currently studying engineering and brings a methodical approach to tasks, quickly getting to grips with the daily operations.

Could you identify UK and global produce?

On Wednesday 21st May, our Butchery Sales Manager John Cowen visited James Rennie’s annual work day.

John brought a wide variety of products, focusing on items from the UK, different regions, and around the world. The children had to identify each product, explain what it was, and place it on the UK or world maps he provided. They loved the activity, especially discovering the different fruits and vegetables.

Emelia has officially been promoted from Junior Buyer to Buyer!

Since joining us three years ago, Emelia has consistently impressed everyone with her keen eye for detail, strong negotiation skills, and deep understanding of our market and customers. From day one, she brought a proactive spirit to her role and continues to do so every day.

In her time as a Junior Buyer, Emelia took on increasing responsibilities with enthusiasm and professionalism. She played a key role in several successful partnerships, built strong supplier relationships, and always brought fresh, new ideas to the table.

Supporting a great community project!

On Tuesday 25th March 2025, we handed over a cheque of £2,000 to Carlisle Youth Zone.
