Proud to be supporting environmental changemakers

Founded in 2019 by Matterdale’s Amy Bray when she was 16 years old, Another Way is taking part in the Big Give Green Match Fund to raise £20,000 in a week.

About Another Way …

Another Way is an environmental education charity founded in 2019 and their aim is to create collective, inspired community action for a more sustainable future, focusing on young people.  They value science and solutions-based education, positive messaging and spreading compassion and inclusivity.

Another Way is always hard at work holding a raft of fundraising events so they can increase the scale and content of their educational community app. If it raises £20,000, it will be matched by The Reed Foundation and Gower Street doubling funds raised to £40,000.

Donations must be made during April 18 and April 25 via Another Way’s page on the Big Give Green Match Fund website.

As part of the Big Green Give efforts Another Way announced that Pioneer Foodservice has joined as a corporate partner.

“We are excited to have Pioneer Foodservice onboard and this fundraising campaign sees its first generous contribution to our work. We very much thank Pioneer’s ongoing support and hope other like-minded organisations will join us to help us reach our target to enable us to deliver our vision to help fix the future,” said Amy.

Graham Jenkins, our managing director, said: “The work Amy and her team at Another Way are doing is an inspiration to us all. It is vitally important to ensure different generations understand the critical function and resources our earth provides. How it supports us and how we need to support it. We are proud to be Another Way’s first corporate partner, hopefully the first of many.”

Another Way has inspired more than 8,000 people to take positive action for the planet and we’re proud to be a part of it.

What started with Amy talking about marine conservation in school grew to a movement across Cumbria of people taking positive action.

The charity launched a web app known as ‘Power of 10’ which allows young people to access, view and download resources and the community forum on a laptop or desktop, especially useful during school hours.

Power of 10 – the app to connect like-minded young people

Amy said: “Another Way’s Power of 10 app is already proving popular with young people from across Cumbria. Over 250 secondary school age children are part of a closed test platform that allows them to connect with other children who are passionate about protecting the environment.

“The app provides information and content on how to take climate action and move towards a more sustainable lifestyle.

“We are working hard to expand the Power of 10 app by providing more content and scaling the platform to make it available to all young people across the country and wider. The result will be the largest ever community of young people taking grassroots climate action. The funds we raise from the Big Give Green Match Fund campaign will provide a significant leap to our goal, “ Amy continued.
