Practical advice provides inspirational menu ideas
John Cowen, our butchery sales manager, recently visited The Anchor Hotel in Haydon Bridge to give their chefs some inspiration and ideas for fresh meat products to feature on their menus.
The Anchor Hotel in Haydon Bridge prides itself on providing its customers with first-class locally sourced food.
John’s role often calls for him to give hands-on practical advice to our customers. During his visit, John helped them produce five individual dishes which included pork cutlet French trimmed, French trimmed rack of lamb and oxtail pie with sirloin cannons. Ecstatic with the outcome, the team have decided to initially adopt three of the dishes for the specials board.
John says: “Steve and his team invited me to go along to the hotel and help them come up with some fresh menu ideas. I spent the morning with them and built up a great rapport with the staff. We had a great time throwing around some ideas and then cooking up some fantastic dishes.”
“I’m glad that The Anchor Hotel has decided to go with some of my ideas. Visiting customers and helping them out is the best part of the job and it’s so satisfying to see some of them on their menus. Building and maintaining strong relationships with our customers is a key part of our sales team ethos.”
