Let’s celebrate British Food Fortnight
21st September until 6th October 2019
British Food Fortnight is the biggest annual, national celebration of British food and drink. It was established in 2002 to bolster Britain’s food and farming industry in the wake of the foot and mouth crisis.
The event is a great opportunity for those who work in any aspect of food and drink to come together and promote the benefits of buying and eating home-produced food.
What are the benefits to your business?
*You will attract new visitors.
*Provenance is becoming increasingly important to customers and if you promote British and local foods, customers are prepared to pay more for it.
*If you’re a pub or restaurant, the opportunities to use regional foods to complement beers and wine sales and to drive menu sales are increasing.
How can you get involved?
*Experiment with new dishes on your menu using British and regional foods.
*Use ‘chefs specials’ to create interest in local produce.
