We are a proud supporter of Carlisle Youth Zone

For many years we have been a proud sponsor and supporter of Carlisle Youth Zone and on Thursday 14th March, we visited to hand over a cheque for £2,000.

Our sales manager, Gemma Hodgson (pictured left), handed a cheque to Lynsey Buckle (pictured right) who is the Development Manager at the youth zone.

Carlisle Youth Zone relies on charity donations to run its services to help children from a wide range of backgrounds from across the county. The youth zone is based in Carlisle and provides a safe and fun place for children and young people to meet, make new […]

Colour Run 2019 sponsors

We are proud to announce, for the third year, we are sponsoring Eden Valley Hospice’s annual Colour Run!

Each year the Carlisle-based hospice organises the fun run at Carlisle Racecourse to help raise vital funds to maintain it’s services. The run takes place on Sunday 12th May this year.

The Colour Run is a 5km event which sees participants run, jog, walk or even toddle through a sea of paint and bubbles. This is a family fun event and we’ll be entering a team of runners to help raise money too. Last year our team raised just under £600 which is a marvellous total!

Celebrating Women in Business

On Friday 8th March, we attended a Women in Business event at Carlisle Lake District Airport.

The event was organised by Natwest to celebrate International Women’s Day and invited working women from across the area to come together and celebrate success and achievement. Our marketing manager, Karen Graham, attended and represented us by showcasing a stand showing a huge array of local produce from suppliers that we work closely alongside. From Claire’s Handmade jams and chutneys, ales from Carlisle Brewing and Brack n Brew to gin from the Lakes Distillery, our stand attracted a lot of attention.

There were many inspirational female speakers invited on the day. Kate Willard, […]

Steven’s background as a pastry chef for 15 years certainly gives him the credentials to know quality ice cream when he sees it! He struggled to find ‘handmade’ quality ice cream when he was working in the kitchen, so […]

Carlisle Skills Fair 2019

On Thursday 31st January, we attended Carlisle Skills Fair at the Sands Centre in Carlisle. The skills fair is an event where employers from the city come together to showcase career opportunities to those looking for new careers, advice or job opportunities.

Organised by John Stevenson, MP for Carlisle, the event is not only attended by local employers such as Pirelli, H&H Reeds Printers and Tesco, but also further and higher education providers; Carlisle College and the University of Cumbria. Many school children attend each year, seeking careers advice for their future and how to take advantage of opportunities available in the city.

Vegan cakes with no compromise on taste or quality!

According to The Vegan Society, 1 in 3 Brits have stopped or reduced their meat consumption and during last year, 1 in 6 products launched claimed to be vegan. Our sales teams are overwhelmed by the demand for new vegan products from our customers and our sales team works hard to source tasty, innovative products to suit meat-free diets.

This month sees the launch of delicious new cakes and slices from The Handmade Cake Company. For many years they have supplied us with quality cakes and bakes, and now we are expanding our range to include vegan options, many of which are gluten […]

Celebrating #CumbriaDay

On Wednesday 23rd January, Cumbrian MPs put aside their political differences to celebrate the best the county has to offer. The six MPs invited representatives from some top Cumbrian businesses and we were excited to be joining them!

Graham and David Jenkins set up stand in the Jubilee Room at Westminster to talk to MPs from across the political spectrum. They spoke passionately about our business, giving great insight into our history, ethos and future growth plans, all the while enticing everyone to try our award-winning Cumberland sausage and pork & apple lattice pies. As you can see from the images below, John Bercow, Speaker of the House of Commons […]
